The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is designed to give recent B.S./B.A. graduates, master's and doctoral candidates, young professionals and artists opportunities for personal development and international experience. Each year, Fulbright awards roughly 2,000 grants for ~9-12 months of self-designed study, research, creative projects, or teaching English in one of over 145 participating countries.

The Fulbright Program is the largest U.S. exchange program, funded by the U.S. Department of State and awarding 2,100 grants to students and young professionals each year, plus another 4000 to more senior scholars and professionals. Fulbright U.S. Student grants usually fund 9-12 months of self-designed study, research, community engagement, and/or teaching abroad in over 145 countries worldwide.
Fulbright U.S. Student grants are administered by the Institute for International Education (IIE) with the goal of encouraging cultural exchange and mutual understanding through engagement in an "atmosphere of openness, academic integrity, and intellectual freedom."
Eligibility
The Fulbright US Student Program is open to U.S. citizens, from graduating college seniors up to final-year PhD students, in any field of study.
Language requirements and program details vary by host country and Fulbright program.
Which Fulbright program is right for me?
There are several kinds of Fulbright grants available to U.S. Students, though you may only apply to one in a given year.

Who should apply?
There is no “typical” Fulbright applicant. Drexel Fulbright finalists
and recipients have come from a range of fields, backgrounds, and

To apply for Fulbright at Drexel University, you must submit an application for campus endorsement.

Applying for Fulbright at Drexel involves a few steps:

Step 2. Complete a Fulbright Interest Form
Complete a brief interest form to assess your basic eligibility, and get you started working with the Drexel Fellowships Office. Once you’ve completed this form, we will follow-up with you by email to provide further guidance and access to our Fulbright-Drexel BB/Learn site, with additional resources and support for applicants.
This step is required for all Fulbright applicants at Drexel.

Step 4. Campus Deadline and Interviews
Mandatory Campus Deadline: August 15, 2017 at 12noon.
Campus Interviews: mid-September
You must submit a complete application by this date to be considered for a Fulbright.
Once your application has been submitted for institutional review, the Drexel Fulbright Program Adviser will schedule a campus interview for you. A campus committee will evaluate your application according to Fulbright's selection criteria, based on a review of your materials and a brief, 30-minute interview. The committee provides you with feedback and submits a Fulbright Campus Evaluation, which is submitted as part of your final application package.

Join the Drexel Fellowships Office and Office of International Programs in kicking of another successful Fulbright application season. This daylong event will feature information sessions, panels, and a networking event to help raise awareness and interest in Fulbright programs for students, faculty, and staff.
First Steps to Fulbright for US Students

This info session will review the basics of the Fulbright U.S. Student Program and consider a range of projects and programs Drexel students have done with the support of Fulbright grants. We will help you understand the different Fulbright grants, application process, and how to get started. A Drexel student with Fulbright application experience will be present to share his/her advice and insights.

Fulbright Scholar Panel for Faculty and Professionals

This panel will consist of current Drexel Faculty and Staff who have lectured, conducted research, or participated in seminars as part of the Fulbright Scholar Program. Panelists will discuss their programs and the impact these experiences have had on their academic and professional careers.

The Fulbright Scholar Program provides a range of opportunities for established scholars and professionals. This info session will introduce the various grants available through the Fulbright U.S. Scholar program and explain the professional benefits of participating in international and cross-cultural experiences.
Global Drexel Networking Event

A networking event for faculty, staff and students to share their international experiences and learn more about the resources available at Drexel. Take this opportunity to talk to members of the Drexel community about their Fulbright experiences and other global engagement programs.

Fulbright Application Workshops
Applying for Fulbright can be daunting. Whether you’re staring down a blank page or struggling to pick a spot on the globe, this workshop can help. We will lead you through each component of the application, from finding an affiliation to writing the personal statement and project proposal. Come to this hands-on workshop for ideas on how to get started and to learn about revision strategies.
